World of Warcraft (WOW): Shadowlands was warmly accepted by fans all over the world, due to its continued storyline of the popular franchise as well as some refreshing new content for players to revisit the battlefields of Azeroth again.
As of March 2021, WOW: Shadowlands received a minor update (Patch 9.0.5) which re-introduced Valour Points into the game again.
Dissimilar to its original currency use in Cataclysm, Mists of Pandaria and Warlords of Draenor though, Valour Points are now utilized as upgrade points for any Mythic-level gear to be levelled up.
Depending on the item level of your Mythic gear, Valour Points will be used to rank those pieces of equipment by one tier higher.
To note, the following table can be referred:

Valour Point acquisitions per week will be fixed at a maximum cap, starting at 5,000 max Valour Points during the initial week of Patch 9.0.5’s release (increasing by 750 for each following week).
How do you earn Valour Points in the game now?
There are two methods of doing so:
- Completing Covenant Callings
- Beating Mythic+ dungeons
Specifically, you earn 35 Valour Points by completing Rare Covenant Calling quests, while completing Epic Covenant Callings reward you with 50 Valour Points instead.
However, by beating Mythic+ dungeons, you will be rewarded with a hefty 135 Valour Points besides the usual loot too!
You can find the Valour Point upgrade vendor by visiting Oribos, and locating Aggressor Zo’dash. He will now function as both the PVP and Valour Point upgrade merchant.
Another method is to visit your Covenant Halls too, by way of the usual gear upgrader.
When it comes to upgrading your Mythic gear, the following Valour Points are assigned to each level of equipment upgrades:
- 250 Valour – Shield, Offhand, Ring, Cloak, Bracer, Neck
- 400 Valour – Trinket, Belt, Shoulders, Gloves, Boots
- 475 Valour – Helm, Legs, Chest
- 500 Valour – One-Handed Agility / Strength Weapon
- 750 Valour – One-Handed Intellect Weapon
- 1,000 Valour – Two-Handed Weapon
